Description
Sara Black is a very impressive variety with dark red flesh which is robust in flavor. It has sweet notes and complex undertones, and a hint of earthiness that makes the flavor so good, many consider it to be among the best-tasting tomatoes. Originally from Germany, it has very pretty, blemish-free fruits with smooth shoulders. The Sara Black tomato is more crack-resistant than Cherokee Purple, and still has that beautiful purplish-brown fruit with darker streaks in the flesh. Large fruits can grow up to 1 lb. with most averaging 12 oz. It is also earlier than some of the other black types. Indeterminate. Rated for 78 days but our first fruit in 2012 was in approx. 60 days!
